About our Search Team

The Tazewell County EMA is also known for their SAR (Search And Rescue) team. This team is composed of highly trained ground search members, EMT's as well as a scent tracking dog. Our teams are able to deploy in a short notice to any area of the county and many other surrounding counties in the state if needed. Once on the scene we have specialized communications operators and GPS mapping personnel that can provide data to the ground team. Various exercises and classes throughout the year keep the team members up to date on the latest techniques of Search and Rescue. Certification classes are held regularly.
